Employees are eligible for benefits the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment.


Responsible for managing and maintaining the networks, servers, operating systems, and communication links.  Directs the efforts of the Information Technology staff and resources dedicated to supporting office automation, PCs and end user equipment, network and systems security, and database administration.  Ensures the security of Credit Union computer data and account information.  Coordinates with management to establish and implement operating system goals and objectives.  Oversees the scheduling, operation of the IT department, and supervises IT department personnel.



  • Assumes responsibility for effectively managing and maintaining the technical support of the Credit Union's IT systems.
    • Analyzes business functions and management information needs and seeks new and more effective systems solutions. Breaks down business needs and organizes them into technical support tasks.
    • Assists with controlling the budget for system hardware and software, hardware maintenance, and technical support education and training.
    • Directs the IT staff in analyzing, reviewing, enhancing, and tailoring existing systems to increase operating efficiency or to adapt to information needs.
    • Plans, documents, and implements a business recovery strategy to resume operations of computer platforms in the event of a disaster or similar contingency.
    • Ensures that systems operations are performed in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Implements programs, procedures, and controls to ensure that members data and information are secure.
    • Ensures systems integrity and performance. Develops long-term plans for the Credit Union's computer system platforms.


  • Effectively supervises Computer Operations personnel, ensuring optimal performance.
    • Hires, trains, develops, and directs staff.
    • Conducts performance appraisals as required.
    • Formulates and implements employee corrective actions as needed.
    • Provides leadership and motivation to employees through effective delegation and goal setting.
    • Conducts regular staff meetings and ensures that commitments to users and Department goals are met.


  • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relations with area staff and with management.
    • Keeps management informed of significant problems and progress attained in reaching established objectives. Provides recommendations to establish new and more effective systems and future equipment needs. Suggests systems-related procedures and changes.
    • Coordinates technical support and data security processes with IT personnel.
    • Prepares reports of system activities, discussing changes and their ramifications.
    • Attends and participates in meetings and committees as required.





  • College degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Understanding of Credit Union operations and information needs.
  • Thorough understanding of programming and information systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of business software applications.
  • Five or more years of systems programmer/analyst , computer operations, or similar  experience. At least 5 years of management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Well organized, Solid project and personnel management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to assist and train others.
  • Able to use PC and terminal keyboards, computer hardware, and all related technical equipment.



Willing to work all hours: Typically, on-call 24 hours, 7 days a week.  Upgrades of hardware and software often required to be accomplished over weekends and during early morning hours.  Must respond at any hour to resolve system problems.



Finger Dexterity:  Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.

Talking: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

Repetitive Motion: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.

Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all office jobs.)



Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.  Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple variables.    

Mathematics Ability: Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and selling price; ratio and proportion, and percentage. Able to perform very simple algebra.

Language Ability: Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, and instruction manuals. Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling and grammar. Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis, correct pronunciation (or sign equivalent), and variation in word order; using present, perfect, and future tenses.
